My little night visitor

I had a pleasant little surprise this week when I went to close my studio door. This little guy popped up about 4 feet from the door, between the walkway and the brick wall around my patio. After all the heavy rain we had this week he probably lost his way and became confused.
It's hard to tell from my picture but he was so small he could fit in the palm of my hand. He was only a little bigger then a hamster.

Blog Carnival: Summer Shop Show & Tell

The current Etsy Bloggers Blog Carnival hosted by TiLT Creations.
Show & Tell Summer Line: What you will be making/showing in your store this summer.

I've been wanting to come out with a new line of something totally different in glass for my store for some time now. I finally cane up with that something different due to a mistake. I was making one of my red delicious apple beads and it became stuck to the rod. So I thought why not make plant stakes for my store. I guess you could call that making lemonade out of lemons or would that be apple juice out of apples. In the picture above are 4 new lampwork glass house plant stakes. I'll be working on a line of fruits and vegetables first. Then I thought I would maybe try the birds & bees.

I have also been working on a line of farm animal beads. Pig's, cow's, sheep etc.. With safari animal beads to come a little later in the summer.

I'd love to know what type of beads you would like to see. If you have a favorite farm or safari animal you would like to see in my store please leave a comment.

My vegetable garden

I started my first vegetable garden in 2007 and ever since I have tried to add a new type of vegetable each year. Well this year I got brave and added 2, potato's and zucchini. The first picture is the potato's with some onions to the right. the second is the zucchini.

You can see the tomato's in the background with the peppers up front. I started the peppers and tomato's at the same time, but because of all the high winds we had in April my peppers took a hit and lost most of their leaves. With the heat we get in West Texas my pepper's will be thriving in no time.
